How and why did you get started in this line of work?

Back to a moment in time, a moment that sparked a journey of reflection and realization. It was the year 2014, when I found himself traversing foreign lands, far from the familiar comforts of home. As I emerged from the airport and embarked on a taxi ride to my hotel, I couldn't help but notice something peculiar, something distinct from the usual chaos of city life.

There was an unusual tranquility in the air, a silence that spoke volumes. It was a stark contrast to the incessant honking that had become synonymous with urban living. In that fleeting moment, amidst the unfamiliar streets and foreign sights, I realized the profound impact of a simple absence – the absence of noise.

It took a while for the significance of that observation to truly sink in. For in the quiet of that taxi ride, I found myself contemplating the essence of tranquility and peace amidst the chaos. It was a revelation, a reminder that amidst the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, there exists a space for serenity and reflection.

This observation, though seemingly mundane at the time, left a profound impression on me. However, amidst my travels and professional endeavors, its significance eluded me. It wasn’t until I returned home that its true meaning became evident.

What are the biggest challenges you foresee in this role/business?

For years, I was a part of this very ecosystem, blind to the cacophony that surrounded me. But when I returned, I saw the reality of our situation, and it shook me to my core.

In many Asian countries, unnecessary honking has become a pervasive issue, often stemming from a combination of factors including traffic congestion, aggressive driving behavior and lack of awareness about the consequences of excessive noise. The pattern of unnecessary honking is particularly prevalent in densely populated urban areas where traffic congestion is a daily challenge.

One contributing factor is the perception among some people that honking can somehow alleviate traffic congestion or prompt other people to move faster. This has led to a culture where honking is used as some form of communication, often unnecessarily and incessantly.
I began to scrutinize the honking masses around me with this newfound clarity, delving deep into their habits and behaviors. Countless hours were spent dissecting this issue with brainstorming solutions and tirelessly working through prototype after prototype.

As I delved into the complexities of this behavior, I discovered that it wasn't just a matter of loud sounds disrupting the peace; it was a symptom of deeper societal issues. It reflected our impatience and our disregard for others.

It required more than just good intentions; it demanded a deep dive into the root causes and human behavior. It's not just annoying; it's equally hazardous for our health too.

How do you keep your team/self-motivated in the face of tight deadlines/competition?

The factors that drove me towards this innovation journey:

Curiosity: A natural inclination to ask questions and explore the unknown.
Passion: A deep-seated interest in environmental conservation.
Empathy: Understanding and addressing the needs and challenges faced by others.
Challenge: The motivation to overcome obstacles and push the boundaries.
Impact: The aspiration to make a meaningful difference in the world.
