Thane, 19th April, 2024 — In a significant political development, Deepak Maheshwari, the former president of Shiv Sena's transport wing, has joined the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena. The event took place at the residence of Honorable Chief Minister Shri Eknathji Shinde in Thane.
Joining Maheshwari in the switch were office bearers of Ubatha Sena, Shafiq Khan, Sagir Khan, Kashinath Patole, and Rajendra Kamble. Indrajit Bal of the Transport Force also attended the event.
Maheshwari, who currently serves as the president of the Jan Seva Hich Ishwar Seva Trust, made the move under the leadership of Shiv Sena leader, MP Rahul Shewale. Shewale is a two-time MP and the candidate for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from the Mumbai South Central constituency.
Maheshwari's entry into the Shiv Sena paves the way for potential candidacy in the Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha elections from the Anushakti Nagar constituency. If he contests, he would challenge the current MLA, Nawab Malik.
This strategic move by Maheshwari may shift the political dynamics in the region, and his involvement in the party could play a key role in the upcoming elections.
The Shiv Sena is optimistic about Maheshwari's decision, believing it will strengthen their position in Maharashtra's political landscape.
