Meet Megha Chandvankar, a seasoned educator with over 35 years of diverse teaching experience spanning from Pre-Primary to 10th grade. Renowned for her innovative and interactive teaching methods, Megha has left an indelible mark on her students, earning a reputation for fostering engagement and participation in the classroom.
Transitioning into leadership roles, Megha's tenure as a Principal was marked by her encouraging and supportive leadership style. With a belief in leading from behind, she prioritized the well-being and professional growth of her team, fostering a collaborative and empowering environment.
Long ago, she came across a quote by Haim Ginott that deeply affected her: “I am a survivor of a concentration camp. My eyes saw what no person should witness: gas chambers built by learned engineers. Children poisoned by educated physicians. Infants killed by trained nurses. Women and babies shot by high school and college graduates. So, I am suspicious of education. My request is this: Help your children become human. Your efforts must never produce learned monsters, skilled psychopaths or educated Eichmanns. Reading, writing, and arithmetic are important only if they serve to make our children more human.” This quote made her realize the profound responsibility of being a teacher and the impact she could have on a child's life. Since then, she has made it her mission to focus on all aspects of a child’s personality, not just on teaching subjects.
This epiphany propelled her towards a holistic approach to education, focusing not only on academic subjects but also on nurturing the overall development of each child.
Her mission is to build such a community of teachers who make a Learner’s journey relevant to real life, using varied approaches and taking them deep in their understanding. To develop able and independent learners. Megha embarked on a journey to train over 1000 teachers over the past two decades. Through her venture, Sepals, Megha endeavors to empower teachers with practical skills and attitudes, enabling them to create independent and passionate learners.
Megha's vision is clear: to inspire a new generation of teachers dedicated to nurturing well-balanced, sensitive, and responsible citizens of the world.
